Second attempt at a faceup for my one and only resin doll. This time, I didn't use the watercolor pencils at all -- I can't seem to make them come out smooth enough for my liking. Maybe I need to sharpen them to a super fine point every few strokes? x x; I don't know. Materials used were Alphacolor pastels, MSC flat, and Winton plus Liquitex acrylics.

Experiment complete! This didn't turn out too badly, and at least I know what kinds of things to watch out for next time. I got a little too excited checking the fit after the paint was all dry, and I wound up chipping some of the flesh tone around the neck. That could probably have been prevented by a coat of sealant. T T; Anyway, here's how that burnt head turned out:

This is my first shot at putting together an Obitsu doll. I bought her body and wig from Mimiwoo on eBay, a natural skin 23cm girl body with magnet feet and a handmade faux fur wig. Her face is painted with Winton acrylics, but not yet sealed. Actually, there is iridescent white Liquitex on her lips and around her eyes -- I was really surprised at the difference it made. The clothes came from a Bratz fashion pack, except for the goggles, which are being borrowed from Pinky:st Aya Natsume. They're not pictured, but she's now wearing black socks under a pair of white slip-ons from a poseable Kotobukiya Rei Ayanami.

This was my very first Pinky:st custom, Suikoden III's Barts for
quatrina~
Since this was the first, there wasn't any heavy modding aside from repaints -- you can tell I was just learning how to use the camera too. Thanks to
elegyforlife for teaching me not to get too close to the subject while snapping pictures. XD;
The paint is some really old stuff I found while cleaning out the closet. They're 'Winsor and Newton Galeria' acrylic paints in little metal tubes from Michael's. I've only got the primary colors, black, and white, but that works out just fine since I bought little plastic paint saver things to store pre-mixed colors in. Other mats were an exacto knife, small paintbrushes, zap-a-gap glue, and masking tape.

Part List: RMP001 Nazuna (head), PK014A Maki (hair), PK012A Sacchin (shirt), PK008 Risa (legs), tinfoil, BBQ skewer, and a piece of black cloth. XD;
When I was given some Tamiya epoxy putty, I tried making a jacket for him -- this is with the quick-type. Details were put in using a needle, and the fluffy stuff on his hood is made of the smooth type epoxy. The piece I hacked up to make it was the PK003 body.
( bomber jacket! )
All in all, I'm fairly satisfied with the way he turned out. Just that there are a few inaccuracies like his shirt being tucked in, his hair being a little wavy, and the bandanna being too fuzzy, so I'm kind of tempted to redo him. I also want to learn how to work with the airbrush so there aren't those little visible brush strokes.
Kat made him a much nicer hoe. XD Ee~
